Shark guitar by Dans-Magic Shark guitar by Dans-Magic
Custom carved great white shark guitar. On the lower right there is a diver trying to hide from him. Onyx eye. Paua shell inlays for the bubbles.

I even inlaid the knobs with paua bubbles.

Was a fun piece. Made this one for my other daughter. :)

Started with a painted body. I took and sanded it down to bare wood then carved it like I would my waxes.

Some of my other work
<-- Another guitar I carved

EDIT: Thought I might add that I have a third guitar in the works. A bass guitar with a werewolf. Hoping to have it carved up soon. Finalizing the artwork. Will take work in progress photos of this one to show the process. :)

EDIT again: <-- Look at that! The lovely :iconbisho-s: did a wonderful piece of fan art with my guitar! Go share the love. :)

Very cool. It is a guitar for a mermaid or a zora.

Wow, such a beautiful piece of art. Makes me want to learn how to play guitar, just to play on a guitar like this one.
How much time did it take you to make it?  It's ... it's ... it's awesome!!!

Thank you :)

From start to finish it took about at least 100 hours because I took an existing guitar that was spray painted and sanded down through the fiberglass to the raw wood then started carving. I also had to refinish the neck because that had been painted as well.  It was a guitar I bought off a friend to have fun with.  Kinda cool what you can turn an old beat up guitar into huh?  Can't wait to do more.
